For individuals currently waiting on the Kansas I/DD Waitlist, a $100 ABLE opportunity grant has been made available thanks to financial support from CareSource, Sunflower Health Plan, Arcare, the Kansas Financial Empowerment Foundation and the Kansas Council on Developmental Disabilities (KCDD). To date, $85,000 has been raised to help fund the opening of 850 Kansas ABLE savings accounts. Along with the requirement that an individual must currently be on the Kansas I/DD waitlist to qualify for the ABLE opportunity grant, the following steps must be completed by the individual on the I/DD waitlist and/or their caregiver(s):
