Treasurer Lynn Rogers Working to Reunite Military Items
TOPEKA – In honor of Veterans Day, State
Treasurer Lynn Rogers wants to recognize veterans by seeking to reunite
military medals, awards, and insignia with their families.
“This is one small gesture that my office can
make to thank the men and women that have faithfully served our country by
reuniting families with what I believe are priceless family heirlooms,” said
State Treasurer Lynn Rogers.
The State Treasurer’s Office is responsible
for managing unclaimed property, which includes contents of abandoned safety
deposit boxes.
“We currently have identified nearly 100
pieces of military items and want to get it returned to its rightful owners,”
said Rogers.
A complete list of the military unclaimed
property can be found on the home page of the State Treasurer’s Office website,
kansascash.ks.gov.
